Welcome to the Nicollet Agricultural Education Department and Home of the Nicollet FFA.

Greetings!  I’m Pat Kearney and I have been the agriculture teacher and FFA advisor here at Nicollet High School since 2013.  I would like to thank the community for your support of Ag education and the FFA program in Nicollet.  The facilities in which you have provided for Ag education in Nicollet are some of the best in the country and the students and I feel privileged to be able to educate here.

Some of the newer class offerings for students are Culinary Science, Applied Engineering in the High school.  Work Study has been continued this year bring work world experience to students. Other  traditional Ag. courses of Wood and Metals Shop, Business Management and Leadership are offered.

The Applied Engineering class is a cooperative effort with 3M in introducing students to Mechatronics. Which is the study of design and application of Electronic, Pneumatics and Conveyers form design to application. Currently industry has a vast need for employees who can vision production and technology together to meet the industrial needs. Current college training are not able to meet these needs , so 3M is working with local schools to start to generate interest of students to fill this pipeline that is lacking at this time. Stay tuned for more information to be coming.

In closing, if there is a project the students could do for you, I am always open to more real life experiences to help reinforce the course material.  If you have any ideas or insight you would like to share, please feel free to contact me and I would be happy to see how we can incorporate them into the program.

In addition this year I am Junior Class advisor and Co-Prom Advisor with Tera Willeart as well as Co-Senior Class advisor with Mrs. Fischer. Any questions on these areas please feel free to contact me about any thoughts or concerns.

Please contact me at school at 507-232-3411, ext. 4119 or my mobile phone at 507‑276‑5857.
