National Custodian Day is observed annually on October 2 to recognize the hardworking custodial and facility maintenance professionals who keep schools, hospitals, offices, and public spaces clean and safe. Thank you Ron, Larry and Scott for all you do to keep our areas neat, safe and clean!

Nicollet kicked off Homecoming celebrations today with our annual Coronation Ceremony in the Community Theater. The theater was packed with standing room only. Next week is homecoming - Our student council has prepared a full week of fun ready for all to enjoy! (Thank you to Ruth Klossner for the great photos)

Today students in grade 09 were able to show off the robots they have been working on this school year. Student groups built their own XRP robot, then using blockly, programmed their robot to do simple tasks through the input of a game pad controller. The district received the robots through RESEPI, a program that is bringing hands on robotics, programming, and engineering instruction to rural schools at no cost to the district. While the grade 09 students participated in their competition, some 6th grade students were in the area and able to get a peek at the action!

Tonight our volleyball teams are making lap blankets that will be donated to oncology departments at our local hospitals to help keep patients warm while they are receiving treatments. On Monday our teams will be hosting their annual Cancer Awareness Game.

The South Central Workforce is continuing to develop the Career Corner Newsletter. This month they are focusing on Manufacturing! It’s packed with student resources, curriculum ideas, and tools to support topics going on in the current and future workforce. The Public is invited to come to an informal round table and ask questions about the district and operations. The following dates are the Board Community Meets for the 2026-2027 school year: 12/9/26, 2/10/27, 5/10/27 Two Board members should be in attendance representing the School Board. Informal meetings will be held 5:30-6:00 prior to Board Meetings

NECC Now Enrolling for Immediate Start.

The transformation project continues through week 4. The tile gym floor is being installed, lockers prepped for painting, the development of the main entrance, the family bathroom, the greenhouse, replacement of sidewalk segments. It is exciting to see the activity going on throughout the whole building.

We are at the end of our second week of renovations. Things are moving along. Here are a few Friday photo updates.

With school out, our big summer project has started. Throughout the week movers have been in classrooms relocating nearly everything to the gymnasium. All week the sounds of hammers, saws and heavy equipment have echoed throughout the building. It's a big difference from last week! The district office is still open and operating in the community center wing throughout the summer.

5/13/26 9:00am Nicollet Public School had our final safety drill of the season. This was a soft lockdown drill or HOLD. The purpose of this drill is to clear the hallways for a variety of reasons, lock our classroom doors and continue school as usual until the all clear is given. Today we had the opportunity to provide a training drill for the Nicollet County canine crew. First decoys were placed in Mrs. Courrier’s backpack in a hallway and two non assigned lockers. The Canines were successful in finding the decoys. Thank you to the Nicollet County Deputy Sheriff Canine crew. This was a preplanned drill. Thank you to the students

and staff for cooperating and continuing their education while keeping our school safe.
