The Nicollet School Conservation Crew partnered with the Nicollet American Legion Post #510 to clean a 2 mile stretch of ditches along Hwy 99 just outside our community of Nicollet. Afterwards the Legion invited the crew back for a hot dog, chips and soda social!

5/13/26 9:00am Nicollet Public School had our final safety drill of the season. This was a soft lockdown drill or HOLD. The purpose of this drill is to clear the hallways for a variety of reasons, lock our classroom doors and continue school as usual until the all clear is given. Today we had the opportunity to provide a training drill for the Nicollet County canine crew. First decoys were placed in Mrs. Courrier’s backpack in a hallway and two non assigned lockers. The Canines were successful in finding the decoys. Thank you to the Nicollet County Deputy Sheriff Canine crew. This was a preplanned drill. Thank you to the students
and staff for cooperating and continuing their education while keeping our school safe.

Kindergarten and 2nd grade had a “QUICK” time together celebrating the letter Qq with relay races! 🏃♀️🏃♂️💨
Our friends worked together to practice teamwork, cheering each other on, and showing great sportsmanship while racing from one side to the other. We loved watching our students encourage their classmates and have fun while learning!
Qq is for QUICK, quiet listening, and quality teamwork! What a fun way to build friendships across grade levels while staying active and learning together. 💙✨

Looking for summer opportunities? Today the South Central Workforce Council released their newsletter of Summer Career Exploration Activities. These are great ways for students to learn basics and expectations of an industry by taking a deep dive without making a commitment. Students are welcome to join no matter their background experience. Many of these programs also offer assistance if cost is a barrier.
The newsletter can be found at the following link: https://app.smore.com/n/n9a0c
Congratulations to the LCWM/N Boys track team on winning the True Team track meet last night. They beat Maple River 729 to 705.5 and will be heading to State True Team in Eden Prairie on Saturday, May 16th.

Our Kindergarten friends had the BEST time teaming up with our amazing 4th graders to learn all about Cinco de Mayo! 💃🌮
Together, we practiced saying numbers, colors, and greetings in Spanish—our big buddies were such wonderful teachers and role models! We also enjoyed reading stories that helped us learn more about the holiday and its traditions. 📚
To wrap up our learning, we created a fun craft to celebrate! It was so special to see students learning, laughing, and connecting across grade levels. ❤️
¡Gracias, 4th grade friends, for helping us learn and grow!

We celebrated our Middle School Quarter 3 students of the quarter during a special celebration during our advisory period where students were recognized by their teachers and classmates. These students exemplify Raider Pride and we are very proud of all they do to support our school community. Way to go, students!

Yesterday students in the Art Careers class visited South Central College (SCC) for a hands-on field experience focused on graphic arts careers. During the visit, students screen printed a design created by SCC students and learned the step-by-step process of logo creation, from initial sketches to presenting ideas to clients. The experience also included a panel of graphic design professionals who shared insights about their career paths and answered questions, giving students a deeper understanding of opportunities in the field.
